I came here after they opened at 10:30am on a Sunday. After 11am-12pm, it starts to get busy and you will have to wait a bit before you get seated.
I have come here a couple of times but some of the food I tried were okay; it was a hit or miss. I especially didn't like the steamed rice noodle with shrimp. The shrimp inside was definitely not their best and it left a pretty bad taste. The same goes for the shrimp in the Steamed Shrimp Dumpling. The chicken feet was a challenge; I preferred it to be more steamed and easier to eat. Both the shrimp and pork ingredients in the foods were just okay. Out of all the dishes, my favorite was the egg custard.
It does take a while to get the staff attention but pretty understanding since it was busy. They do check and refill your drinks often.
My first time eating here was New Years Day 2024. Despite the large amount of people crowded in this big restaurant, servers smiled, worked fast, and delivered every dish hot to our table. We tried an arrangement of dim sum, and I also got to take pictures of the food items coming out from the kitchen so you can see the quality of the food. Overall, very satisfied with the food. Quality of the food was good but not as amazing as some of the other dim sum places I have tried in the US. Although the service was 5 star for a busy day. Definitely going back!
The food here is great. I wish they had more vegetarian options, but the few options they have, like the egg rolls, noodles and like 1 or 2 dumpling items, are delicious. The options I have picked from the menus were delicious, like the salted toasted tofu with their sweet soy sauce. You have to request the sweet soy sauce. Service is great, they are pretty quick about brining your meal out. Make sure to come early or you will be waiting outside for a good minute. If your a vegetarian, I highly recommend a different place.
All the different dishes were such a treat. The seafood was very fresh. The fact that the lobster was live until they cooked. It really made a difference in the quality of the dishes. It wasn’t frozen it was fresh, which was awesome. I was very glad we had an opportunity to come to this establishment. The flat noodles were yummy, the crab fried rice was on point, and the fried lobster was tasty and not over cooked at all. We will definitely come back. I really enjoyed the walnut shrimp dish too, the shrimp were huge.
Weekday dim sum came out quick and hot. Pleasantly surprised they had lunch menu items that were pretty good for the price ~$8
Since dim sum is expensive to eat a bunch of mixing in some noodles and meat dishes from the lunch menu was great.
Really liked how open and spacious it is. You don’t feel crowded when sitting down.
Crown Seafood offers lunch menu and dim sum during weekdays. We ordered the following the Walnut Shrimp lunch and dim sum - steamed shrimp dumpling (har gow), siu mai, lo bak go, steamed char siu bao, deep fried taro puff, and steamed rice noodle with shrimp. The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious.
Big spacious place, restaurant is packed on the holiday weekdays. Luckily we were able to get a small table. We ordered shrimp, pork crab dumplings and pork blood, sweet BBQ pastry, chicken feet, shrimp flat rice wrap noodles and fried shrimp crab clamp.
They were all so good and comparing the portion with other dum dum restaurant..... this is a winner.
We walked in from a recommendation from a local friend. Immediately we were greeted by such kind people and were seated promptly. The place is incredibly clean and I had the absolute blessing of being attended by Miss Helen.
Miss Helen was kind, attentive, thorough in her recommendations and above all patient.
She essentially held my hand as I navigated the amazing menu explaining what she would recommend and why pertaining to my personal preferences.
She was quick.
She was kind.
She was everything good and honestly a highlight to our Long weekend in Houston.
Thank you for making us out of towners feel welcomed, Miss Helen! I already wrote to my parents that we need to come visit you soon.
